Planning a Siding or Paint Project: Estimates, Offers and Financing
A large exterior project is easier to plan when you know what an estimate should show, which offers exist, and how financing works.

A siding replacement or a full exterior paint job is one of the bigger checks most homeowners write for the house. It's also one of the hardest to budget for, because no two houses are the same and the final scope isn't fully known until someone has looked closely at the walls.
This article won't give you a per-square-foot number. We don't publish a price list, and any figure we invented would be wrong for your house. What we can do is show you how to plan, what to ask for, and which offers and payment options Oklahoma Siding actually has.
Start with a free estimate
Estimates at Oklahoma Siding are free. Someone looks at your house, talks through what you want, and writes up the work. There's no charge for that visit and no pressure to sign anything on the spot. If you'd like to compare us with other contractors, please do. A good contractor expects it.
To get the most out of it, walk the house first and write down what bothers you. Peeling spots, soft trim, siding that has swollen at the bottom edge, drafty doors, anything. Photos help. The more specific you are, the more accurate the estimate.
What a good estimate should spell out
- The exact product and where it's going. For siding, that means the brand and profile. For paint, the product and number of coats.
- Which prep steps are included, such as washing, scraping, caulking and priming.
- How rotted or damaged wood will be handled if it turns up, and how it will be priced.
- What's included around the walls: trim, soffits, doors, windows, shutters.
- Who handles cleanup, and what the warranty covers.
When estimates disagree on price, the difference is almost always in this list. Two numbers can look comparable until you realize one of them skips the prep and the other doesn't.
Offers Oklahoma Siding publishes
We list our current offers on our website, and here they are in plain words. Offers can change, so confirm the details when you call.
- $500 off a $15,000 siding replacement.
- $250 off any project over $5,000.
- 5% off for military and seniors.
The military and senior discount is something Mike Ross cares about. It's a way of giving back to people who have given a lot to our communities. If it applies to you or a family member, ask about it at the estimate so it's built into the paperwork from the start.
Financing through Hearth
Oklahoma Siding partners with Hearth for financing. Hearth has a 0% option for 18 months for credit scores above 680. Ask when you call about how it applies to your project.
Financing can make sense when you want to fix a problem now instead of waiting until you've saved the whole amount. Siding that's letting water in only gets more expensive the longer it's left. A 0% period can spread out the cost, but read the terms carefully and make sure you understand what happens when the promotional window ends. For anyone paying directly, we also accept American Express, Cash, Check, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
Phasing the work to fit a budget
Not every project has to happen at once. If the budget is tight, ask what truly needs doing first. Rotted wood and failing flashing come before a color change. Walls that are letting water in come before decorative trim. A good contractor will help you set priorities honestly instead of selling you the biggest version of the job.
Sometimes doing a repair now and the repaint next year is the smarter plan. Sometimes combining jobs saves money, since the crew only mobilizes once and the repaired areas can be painted in the same visit. Ask for both options and compare.
Things that quietly change the total
- Hidden damage found when old siding comes off.
- Rotted trim, fascia or soffits that need replacement before anything else goes on.
- Door replacement or window trim work added to the project.
- A larger or more complicated house than it looks from the street.
- Extras you add after the work starts.
None of these are reasons to avoid the project. They're reasons to ask the contractor how surprises will be handled, and to get any change in scope written down before the work continues.
Protecting the investment afterward
The warranty matters when you're comparing quotes. Oklahoma Siding honors manufacturer warranties and gives its own 5-Year Craftsmanship Warranty on all services. Keep your paperwork somewhere you'll find it, and take photos of the finished job. It's the easiest way to resolve questions years down the road.
